Work Experience at the end of the 1st year:
Students carry out three months work experience in France or abroad. The assignment meets 3 objectives:
- discovery of the running of an organisation,
- contribution to the students' personal development, (personal development rationale),
- possibly provide cultural and linguistic immersion.
The assignment should enable students to:
- discover how a company is run: structure, relations between different departments, plants...
- grasp the nature of the companies' relations with its clients and more generally with its environment.
The student's performance is evaluated at the end of the assignment by the company and by the school
Examples of assignments making use of the basic techniques learned: Market studies, Field sales, Junior department supervisor (retail), Financial adviser, Creation of performance indicators, Export assignment, Operational marketing, Assistant publicity manager, Financial analysis, Job abroad...
Internship Year and 3rd year work experience:
The Internship Year is not compulsory but more than 80 % of students in their second year choose this option. The work experience can take place in France or abroad and lasts between 3 and 12 months. Students who do not choose an Internship Year must carry out 6 months minimum work experience before graduating after the third year.
The objectives are:
- to put classroom theory into practice,
- to prepare or choose a career path, by enabling students to become familiar with a particular position or a sector of activity which they are interested in,
- and if possible, lead to employment.
Nature of the work experience:
The work experience must be operational. It can take place in a company/business or within an association. The student's performance is evaluated by the company. Student status may be maintained thanks to the existence of a Placement Agreement.
Two types of work experience are generally proposed:
- A specific or one-off assignment having a precise theme, objectives to be attained and deadlines to be met.
Examples: execution of a market study, organisation of an activity, of a department... - An assignment in connection with the regular activity of a department.
Examples: Assistant product manager, Assistant financial controller, Junior consultant, HR Assistant, Website and Intranet developer, Department supervisor (retail), Credit analyst, realization of market or sector studies…
